Meet Mike Donley

Mike Donley has had a fly fishing rod in his hands since he was seven years old. Nearly three decades later he has made a career of fly fishing and is a year round professional fishing guide. He has a BS in Fisheries Biology and enjoys teaching people, especially kids, about the ecosystems that make the rivers and oceans so special. His number one goal is to make sure everyone on his boat has the trip they envisioned, whether that includes never putting the rod down or just putting your feet up and watching the scenery go by.

Steelhead fishing is like big game hunting, the end product is a result of planning and knowledge gleaned from experience. Finding and hooking Steelhead on the swing or with a single hand rod can be a daunting task, and without local knowledge, fish patterns are tough to pin down. It helps to have someone that can turn the odds in your favor! That is where Lost Forest Fishing Guides come into play. The Guides spend all their time on the Olympic Peninsula running these rivers in search of the crafty and altogether elusive sea run rainbow trout commonly known as steelhead.

If you want to see yourself in a picture with a big wild steelhead, call Lost Forest Fishing and book a trip today!
